This timber frame office structure attaches to a
manufacturing complex south of Franklin on Hwy 441 near
Otto, NC. The timber frame is of Eastern White Pine. The
conference room is 16 feet by 16 ft featuring a compound
joinery ceiling with dragon beams and intersecting hammer
beam bents.

The main timber frame
is composed of four crown post bents with common
rafters; the timber frame features double curved arched
knee braces. This design came from a 13th-14th century
English pattern of building called a "Wealden Hall."
The buildings were built in southeastern England in a
forested area called the "Weald."The timber
frame entry porch has been designed so that the two
bents are significantly different in style.
