When
envisioning their mountain getaway this family
thought what would work best for them and not
what others expected. This custom two story
full timber frame of eastern white pine has the
bedrooms on the ground floor and the shared
living areas on the second floor.

The photo
above shows the view as one comes up the stairs from
the first floor bed -setters. Here you can see the
gently arched king post trusses that the home owners
wanted. The darker wood is the walnut spline that
Cabin Creek used to strengthen the timber frame
joinery.
Pictured
above are the hand crafted newel posts and
balusters' that the home owners had local artisans
craft for them. The ladder pictured leaning against
the wall is used for decorative purposes only .

Here you can see many
different views of this timber frame GREATROOM.
The large Walk-in shower
Is not pictured.
These two bedrooms share a
shower but Have separate sinks and water closets.
Not shown is the guest half bath and the laundry
room.
Having the
shared living areas on the second floor allowed them to
bridge to the existing residence on the property. The
older residence having been completely redone serves as
a connected guest house for family and friends. As you
can see below they have bridged the two
living areas. Having the shared living areas on the
second floor allows them to take advantage of some
outstanding panoramic views ..and watch the kids
without being intrusive ...
One of the many man-made
lakes on the property. All have wonderful sitting &
thinking spots close by.
One can enter
the shared livings areas from several entries.
