| When we planned a new
office and beamery, we used a 14th century
English design (a Wealden Hall) with a soaring
ceiling for the office. It is connected to a
beautiful small compound joinery timber frame
structure, which enjoyed a previous life as a
forklift shelter, and now is our design center.
|
| On the other side of
the office is our beamery, some 7500 square
feet, where, inside, we cut and trial assemble
our frames, and store them prior to shipping.
|
| The entire complex is
heated with a hot water radiant floor system
powered by an outdoor furnace in which we burn
our waste wood--cut offs from our timber framing
work. This makes it very comfortable for our
timber framers in the shop as well as the timber
frames being cut and stored there. |
